Confederate Nazi Flag

Description

Both flags represent groups that were economically disadvantaged and under the thumb of more powerful economic neighbors.  Both groups used racial scapegoats as a key talking point in why they went to war.  The main difference?  Germany was an industrialized nation capable of fielding heavy equipment, whereas the South was an agricultural center that lacked extensive manufacturing capabilities.  One is seen as the embodiment of Evil because it actually stood a chance at winning, the other is revered as an underdog by some groups because it really stood no chance.

Both groups claim that their flag represents freedom and history (the broken cross actually is a historical symbol for harmony before Hitler co-opted it).  The other big difference?  When Germany lost the war, the world collectively agreed that it's symbolism was socially unacceptable and not something to ever be promoted again.  The South however has been flying their version high and proud for over a century.

So lets just call a duck a duck, shall we?

The Confederate flag is every bit as much a symbol of hate as the Nazi flag.  Even more-so to me, as that isn't actually one of the actual Confederate flags, meaning it doesn't even have that much legitimacy behind it.
